A towering figure in NBA history, Magic Johnson's 13-year career with the LA Lakers is replete with honors, records, and trophies. Signed to the team after a distinguished two years playing college ball for Michigan State, Earvin Magic Johnson became a member of five championship teams, was a 12-time All-Star, and was voted Most Valuable Player and Finals MVP three times each. He also won a gold medal as a member of the original Dream Team in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. But what anyone who has ever seen this legendary athlete play remembers is his winning exuberance, his smile, and the sheer love of the game he played. This documentary explores the man behind the myth, beginning with his beginnings in Lansing, Michigan, and his tenure at Everett High School, where he first garnered the nickname Magic. Featuring in-depth interviews with Magic, the film is narrated by Danny Glover (LETHAL WEAPON), and explores the entire trajectory of the star's career, including footage of his 1995 return to the NBA.
